CAUTION, FOR ELDERS ONLY: Test your knowledge of the 'Shepherd the Flock of God' book.
by Esse quam videri injehovah's organization has lovingly provided all elders with guidance to help them 'shepherd the flock'.
to help you [elders only] get more familiar with your 'shepherd' book we are asking you to 'test your knowledge' with this first 'mini quiz' of a series entitled: where in the book?.
question 1: where in the book would you find this fine and timely advice for congregation elders?.

Do you mean to say that the three stooges at my jc who had me charged with lying and slander did something wrong like first: not tell me over the phone what my charges were, second: two of the elders were the ones that said I was suppose to have said something and then both their charges were thrown out-one even saying he had lied and the other saying it was an "impression" I had given. Are you saying since they were witnesses as well as accusers shouldn't have been on my jc? -

Simone, I wish our experiences in this snake pit would have been just that, a soap opera. Over and over we kept asking ourselves is it us and what's wrong with these people. Why don't we fit in. Now we know. It wasn't us after all. Once I came on to your site, there was this burden taken off our shoulders knowing that we weren't alone and found the truth about the truth.. We didn't have to worry any more but plan our exit. Thank you for all the hard work you do:) -

It gets even more bizarre. The owner of the dealership is a jw who divorced his first wife and neither spouse got df'd and he married his second wife which was in a kingdom hall. The brother who is the manager had a sign business before he became manager at this dealership. Someone owed him money at another dealership place that he cleaned so one night he went in to clean and took one of the keys to one of the cars and had it duplicated. Then one night he stole the car. There were lawyers involved and the dealership was going to press charges but dropped all the charges in the end.
Unfortunately, there was a chinese sister who was working there at the front desk at the time and witnessed everything. This guy was an elder and made it really hard on this poor sister until she had to move away and find work else where in Toronto. This guy got off and was able to remain and elder but the other elder that wanted him to fess up got removed. You really should live at this neck of the woods. You can't make this shit up.
There were pictures taken of a co and his wife. Can't remember if it was an anniversary but in the picture we see some of the bethelites and other co's there along with this idiot elder thief. And who did they use alot in assembly parts was this goon. We saw shit like this go on constantly and kept quiet. All we wanted to do was leave quietly yet we got the most severe lashing. Never again!

I see this picture of a clown in a suit and tie hanging on the wall in the salesman's office so I think definitely reminds me of a joho clown. This nice salesman is sitting at his desk and so I told him his picture makes you think. He said he would rather be fishing and has a pic on his computer of him fishing in Belize. He said he's been at his job for over twenty years and now he's in it for the long haul just like his marriage.
I told him what would his wife think of that if she heard him say those things. He said which wife. He has one in the old country which he goes back to see from time to time and one here in Canada. I asked him why he doesn't bring the other wife down here and he said that they don't know each other and he's still married to the both of them. Never divorced.
I go home and tell our friend who use to be an elder(who also left the org years ago) in that area about my experience with this man and give them his name and guess what? Yes, he's a jw. The elders never gave him any privileges even though his wife and two kids have been pioneering for many years. So I'm guessing that the elders know and as long as it's not public knowledge they won't do anything. Like they did at my old hall. There was a brother who was living common-law with a nonjw and the coordinator did nothing about it. Later someone sent in a letter to bethel who also knew and the coordinator got removed. That was after he gave a local needs on marrying in the lord.
When I go back to pick up my new car, I will go and see him and let him know that's exactly what my grandfather did to his first wife. Left her back in Greece with their children and came over here and started a new life with wife and kids. And that he should really be careful who he tells this to and introduce myself. I'll start off by telling him that the picture of the clown in a suit and bow tie reminds me of those people that knock on my door. See what he says. He's elderly and very nice but was proud to tell me and another lady about his wives. It was a really bizarre day.

Question Box
Is it permissible to live in the territory of one congregation but attend meetings elsewhere?
Generally speaking, it is best to attend the meetings of the congregation holding the territory where you live. Im most cases this proves to be in the best spiritual interests of the family, since it ordinarily makes it convenient to attend meetings, share in field service in territory close by and take advantage of help provided by the elders.
It is recognized, however, that individual circumstances vary. Such factors as one's secular work schedule, having an unbelieving mate or transportation problems may lead someone to conclude that it would be more advantageous spiritually to attend another congregation. Each family head bears responsibility for his own household. After considering all factors involved, he will have to decide what is best. He may want to discuss matters with the elders to get the benefit of their advice before he makes a decision. Perhaps they know of overlooked advantages that would result to the family in attending the congregation holding the territory where they live, or possible disadvantages that may be encountered in transferring to a neighbouring congregation. Often it is easier for the congregation holding the territory to render loving assistance. And the home of the family might be used as a book study location within the congregation holding the territory. But in final analysis, the elders will want to encourage the family head to decide in a way that will ensure the best spiritual benefits to his family. There is no reason to be critical of his decision when made.
In metropolitan areas, there is often a large number of congregations located in a concentrated area. There may be a number of reasons why the elders may decide that the interests of the work would be advanced by a transfer of publishers.
And it goes on about how it is the family head's responsibility to weigh all the factors and decide if such a transfer should be made. The same would be true of elders, ministerial servants or pioneers. (see Question Box in February 1973 Kingdom Ministry)

That's exactly what we did and with the co's blessing. He had told the elders of the new hall to use us to the fullest. Then the next pompous co came along, Birnie Geraux, and he told these elders to do what ever it takes to get us back to the old hall. Yet, my husband was being used as literature/book counter as well as territory for the last twelve years before we left. They still allowed us to pioneer and work at the bethel farm.
It will depend on your circuit overseer and how much you dump into their money pits. Why in the world would you want to put yourself through the agony of the gossip that will follow????
And yet the old hall had two elders who were living outside of their territory. And forty minutes away from us there were a congregation of Italians who had a few elders living outside of their territory as well as quite a few families. They had felt comfortable with one another since they were all Italians.
Rules are different in each hall, it seems. A bethel elder told us that they prefer you go to the hall your assigned to but there is no written in stone rule on that. I do know there is an article on it for I had dug it up years ago to give the co if we were given a hard time about it, which we were not.

Phone call from a brother last night
by label licker inthe brother and his wife thought the statement at the end of this month's broad cast show was a little off.
the org stated that jehovah's organisation can not be corrupted.
(needless to say only three had shown up for the broadcast meeting at the hall) he's never heard that before so we filled him in as to what the org has been up to and gave him jwnet, jw facts as well as jw survey to look at.

Thanks Cappytan, I would love to see that part. Just spoke to the brother and he said the organisation can not be corrupted. That's what it said on the April broadcast show.
Thank you ABibleStudent. I am putting that on my face book page as well as look into it.
All you people are a wealth of support and education. Again, thank you.
